Michael D. Murcko Sr, age 87 of Bridgeport, beloved husband of 57 years to Constance (Dorothy) Budris Murcko, died Tuesday October 8, 2013 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport. Mr. Murcko was born in Bridgeport the son of the late Paul and Anna Slosar Murcko Mr. Murcko was a life long Bridgeport resident. He was a retired Pumper Engineer for the Bridgeport Fire Department. He was a US Marine Corp veteran. He was a member of BARF. Survivors in addition to his wife are his devoted children; Michael Murcko Jr and his wife Christina, of Stratford, Robert Murcko and his wife Theresa, of West VA, Kathy Martin and her husband Daniel, of Shelton, and Linda Cartelli, of Bridgeport. He was the greatest "papa" to A.J. Cartelli, Robert Murcko Jr, Michael Murcko III, Theresa Rife and husband Josh, Caitlin McGurk and her husband Ryan, Jacqueline and Rachael Murcko,and Lindsay Martin. A brother Paul Murcko and his wife Theresa, of Fairfield, a sister Pauline Murcko, of Bpt, two sister-in-laws Irene Mercer, of Bpt and Virginia Murcko, of Shelton and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by five brother's Charles Murcko , George Murcko, John and Andrew Murcko, Daniel Mercer and a sister Ann DeFranceso.
Friends are invited to attend his Funeral on Saturday at 9:30 am (directly) at the Assumption Church Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Trumbull.
