Molly Masiuk Obituary

MASIUK Mrs. Molly R. Masiuk, age 60, of Milford, beloved wife to Michael M. Masiuk entered into eternal rest on June 30, 2010 after a long battle with ALS at Milford Hospital. Daughter of Molly Ruggiero Dellaripa of East Hartford and the late John Dellaripa, she was born on August 23, 1949 in Hartford. Molly was the seventh of 10 children-she grew up in East Hartford. She spent her childhood in Hartford and later moved to East Hartford-next to her neighbor and love of her life, Michael Masiuk. She literally began dating the boy next door which blossomed into a loving 39 year marriage. Whether people knew her well or for a short period of time, all came away feeling her remarkable personality and bright demeanor, always greeting you with a beautiful smile. Throughout her whole life she always put her family's needs before her own, even through her battle with ALS. Her struggle with ALS took many things from her but it never took her spirit or the joy she felt interacting with others. She loved family, friends and the moment, never wanting or needing material possessions. Her happiest moments were with her family and friends, most especially her grandchildren. Molly often took leadership roles such as her involvement as Simon Lake PTO president and first President of the Jonathan Law High School sports association. Molly worked 22 years at Costa Azzurra Restaurant in Milford. Here she met many friends and allowed many people to enjoy her warmth. In addition to her husband, survivors include her three devoted children, sons Michael J. Masiuk and his wife Jaime of New Canaan, Mark Masiuk and his wife Rose of Trumbull; and daughter Lori Blair and her husband Nathan of Milford; five cherished grandchildren, Luke, Molly, Julia, Christopher and Abby. Also her siblings Richard Dellaripa of Georgia, Fred Dellaripa of Manchester, Nick and Robert Dellaripa of Massachusetts, Phyllis Kranmas and Pamela Dellaripa of East Hartford. Molly is also survived by her mother-in-law, Frances Raymond Masiuk; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister Maria Dellaripa and brothers John and Michael Dellaripa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 3rd at 9 a.m. at St Gabriel Church, 26 Broadway, Milford. Interment following at Riverside Cemetery, Route 181, Barkhamsted, CT. Friends and family may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either St. Gabriel Church, 26 Broadway, Milford, CT 06460 or Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405. www.codywhitefuneralservice.com.

Dear Mike and family, We were saddened to hear of Molly-O's passing. It's a sad day. Mario and I saw her at the cousins reunion and she greeted us with a beautiful smile. I whispered in her ear that I loved her very much, she held my hand and smiled at me. I will never forget it. She didn't let her illness get in the way of her feelings. Our prayers are with all of you. Much love, Mario and Cora
