Nicholas Amico Sr.
Nicholas Amico Sr., age 95, a lifelong resident of Ansonia, entered eternal rest on May 15, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of seventy-three years to Evelyn (Lewis) Amico. Born at home, in Ansonia, on January 17, 1930, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Michelina Pergola Amico. Nick was a graduate of Ansonia High School, class of 1947 and Quinnipiac University, class of 1956. He was employed by the U.S. Department of Justice as an administrator for eight years, then went on to work for thirty-nine years as the director of Human Resources for Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, until his retirement. Post retirement, Nick remained active by working at Grassy Hill and Clinton Country Clubs as an assistant to the pros. Nick spent a significant amount of time supporting the City of Ansonia. Nick was a huge sports fan. He enjoyed golf, baseball, bocci and swimming. He was involved in the start-up of the Ansonia Pop Warner football league, where he coached and announced at the games. Nick loved spending time with his family and friends at his summer home in Milford, CT, and winter home in Naples, FL. He enjoyed traveling to Europe, especially to Italy to visit relatives. On behalf of the Sons and Daughters of Italy in Derby, I would like to express our deepest sympathy to Evelyn and her family. Evelyn and Nick would often come with a full table of people to our Friday night dinners. They were such a wonderful and loving couple. We were always amazed how enthusiastic and lively they were as a couple at their age. It’s nice to know how active Nick and Evelyn were throughout their lives and all the memories they made while traveling and being with friends.. Rest in peace, Nick.
Warmly,
Barbara Ostrosky
