Paul Foytho Obituary

Paul H. Foytho Jr.
September 18, 1936 - August 7, 2025
Paul H. Foytho Jr., of Shelton, CT, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 7, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born and raised in Fairfield, Paul proudly served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. He later dedicated many years of service to Hubbell Incorporated, where he worked as a facilities supervisor, earning the respect of colleagues for his integrity, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment.
Beyond his professional life, Paul embraced every moment with passion and purpose. He was an avid scuba diver, a certified instructor, and a gifted underwater photographer. His "happy place" was Grand Cayman, where he captured stunning images beneath the waves and inspired countless students and fellow divers with his love for the ocean.
Paul was predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara Nagy Foytho; and his brother, Peter Foytho. He is survived by his loving son, Paul S. Foytho of Woodbury, CT; his devoted daughter, Gale Foytho of Shelton, CT; and his cherished granddaughters, Sloane Rodia of Honolulu, HI, and Phoebe Rodia of Belmont, NC.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an ocean conservation organization of your choice, in honor of Paul's lifelong passion for marine life.

Dear Gale and family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you for the loss of your father/relative.
Paul was my neighbor for many years. He was always there to quietly lend a helping hand or a "listening" ear.

I met Paul when I worked at Hubbell. He was a good friend of my husband, Tom Skarupa, who died 8 yrs. ago. We reconnected 4 yrs. ago when I was in CT and started texting occasionally. Looked forward to catching up over breakfast when I visited my family in CT. He was a terrific guy and I will miss him and his quick wit and counsel. RIP my friend.

I'm so sorry. Paul was a wonderful neighbor and will be very missed.
Best memory was Halloween, took my kids to his door to trick or treat and he had the glass out on the top panel. He reached out through the blank space dressed as Spiderman. And that's what he has been known as to us ever since. Best Halloween!
