Paul Maco Obituary

Maco, Paul J.
Age 95, of Milford, died at his home on Friday, November 29, 2013. He was the husband of the late Mary "Mae" Maco. Mr. Maco was born in Bridgeport to the late Paul and Suzanna Maco. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Maco received a Purple Heart for injuries he had sustained in the second invasion of Normandy. He was retired from the US Postal Service in Bridgeport. Mr. Maco was a loyal and enthusiastic fan of the New York Yankees. He was fortunate to have attended games and see Babe Ruth play. His family will miss him immensely but take comfort that he is at peace and with his beloved wife again. He is survived by three beloved children, Maryann Derrico and her husband, William, Paul G. Maco and Joseph P. Maco (his loving caregiver), all of Milford; one brother, Thomas Maco of Stratford; three loving grandsons, Michael, James and Sawyer Derrico; one great-grandson, Thomas Miguel Derrico; three nieces, Dottie Kozma of Bridgeport, Margaret Caramanica and Dorothy Edwards, both of Stratford; and many other nieces and nephew, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Rev. Joseph Maco and John Maco; and two sisters, Helen Kozma and Mary Paolucci. Friends may call on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 9 to 10 am at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 am at St. Agnes Church, Milford. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
