Paul Rogalin Obituary

Paul Rogalin
Paul Rogalin, age 62, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Friday, March 19, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Pamela (Varone) Rogalin. Born in Bridgeport and raised in Fairfield, he was a son of the late Edward Rogalin and the late Maria (Escalona) Rogalin. A U.S. Navy Veteran, he served his country honorably. Paul worked as the Director of Human Resources at Sacred Heart University, where he built many lasting friendships.
Paul's lifelong passion was music. A self-taught musician, he was often found jamming on the keys, singing, and playing guitar with his family and friends. He delighted the community playing in several local bands, most recently, The Four of Us. He was a force of positivity, uniting us this past year through his Facebook Live concerts, Paul's 3 Song Live Show (with noodles).
Paul's humor was one of a kind, and he was always ready with a witty remark or a clever "dad" joke. His antics at family gatherings were legendary, and he was known for literally turning things upside down. He enjoyed many afternoons floating in his pool listening to Yankee games. His greatest enjoyment however was found in the time he spent with his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and friend of many. Paul's strength, kindness, and wisdom were inspiring. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife Pamela of 26 years, he is survived by his loving children, Caitlin, Emily and Gregory, his brothers and sisters, Stephen (Rita), Patricia (Bert), Edward, Philip (Christine), Monica (John) and Elizabeth (Mark), his father-in-law, Anthony, his brother-in-law, Peter, and sister-in-law, Diane (Tom), as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews. He's predeceased by his parents, his brother, Maurice, his mother-in-law, Janet, and his dog, Max. A walk through visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Guests are required to wear face masks and socially distance as they enter the building, pay their respects and then exit in order to allow other guests the same opportunity. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton. Interment will be held privately for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation (Pancreatic Cancer Research) at https://lustgarten.org/donate/ or Project Purple at https://www.projectpurple.org/. I met Paul in 88' when he was working at the Bank in Bridgeport...I was with Xerox at the time and we were chatting as I was working and we found we had a lot in common and we both played instruments...you can guess how THAT went. He invited me to his Condo in Stamford for some "jamming"...the first time we hooked up he helped me polish up a song I wrote and we recorded it...it came out great...me on guitar...him on keyboard...our friendship wasn't tied to just music though. His personality was so bright and cheerful...he was getting ready for his "Beatles" Trip to England and I remember that was all he could talk about...he loved the Beatles.
He invited me up to the Berkshires to the family property I think for July 4th weekend in 90 I believe...I brought my not quite 2 year old son Michael with me with all the accoutrements(including a harness and leash...LOL)...we had the BEST time...Paul and all his family were so gracious and accepting...Our family moved to NM in Fall of 90 but Paul and I managed to keep in touch. I am saddened by his passing as I would a brother...but I am glad our paths crossed and I got to know him even if only in fleeting moments and had the privilege of calling him a friend...thank you for the memories brother...

So many memories of all of us hanging out on Cardinal St. You always had your guitar back then playing & singing songs. I always loved your gentle spirit and I am so glad you posted your 3 song video! I was able to reconnect from out here in Arizona! R.I.P. I met Paul and his family through my husband Joe. He was quick witted and smart with a gentleness that shone through. His love for his family and friends was apparent and obvious. We danced to the four of us and he told me stories of friendship. My love to his family and friends. Paulp lives eternally through their hearts and memories.

I am shocked and saddened by Paul's untimely passing. I carry many fond 'fellow musician' memories, as far back as high school, though we had lost touch in recent years. My sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
