Peter F. Aldo, age 77, of Shelton, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by family. He is the beloved husband of 46 years of Mariette (Hafford) Aldo. Peter was born in Derby on April 17, 1944, son of the late Peter and Rose (Yovino) Aldo, and lived in Shelton most of his life. He served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Peter was a Mechanical Engineer and worked for the US Postal Service for over 35 years before retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Sutter-Terlizzi Post 16 and lifetime member of Czecho Club in Shelton. He was a lifelong fan of the NY Giants and NY Yankees and enjoyed playing cards. He coached youth football and baseball. He enjoyed impacting lives in a positive manner. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
He is the beloved father of Jacqueline Aldo and Peter F. Aldo, Jr. and his wife Laura, and cherished grandfather of Gabriella, Madeleine, and Ethan. He is also survived by his brother, Andrew Aldo and his wife Christine, sisters Marie Pisacane and her husband Frank, and Grace Monahan and Bob, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Monday from 4 to 7 PM. Masks are required to attend the visitation. On Tuesday, friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Joseph Church 424 Coram Ave., Shelton. Burial with full military honors will follow at Mt.
