Mary Aldo Obituary

Mary F. Aldo
Mary F. Aldo, age 97 passed away peacefully on February 26, 2022, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank A. Aldo Sr. Mary was born on February 3, 1925 to the late Salvatore and Jennie Vicidomino Gasbarri. She grew up in Ansonia, CT and was a graduate of Ansonia High School. After marriage, Mary and Frank moved to Seymour, CT, where she has resided since 1960. Along with raising her four children, Mary worked as the secretary and bookkeeper for the family business, Aldo's Garage. In addition, she worked as a seamstress for the former Ann Brody Bridal Salon and in the circulation department of the former Evening Sentinel Newspaper. She was a longtime communicant of St. Augustine Church in Seymour where she served on the altar guild and a Past Regent for Catholic Daughters of America. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed gardening, playing bingo with the Knights of Columbus and most of all cooking and spending time with her family. Mary was loved and cherished by her family. She is survived by her sons, Richard F. Aldo of Seymour and Ronald G. Aldo (Christine) of Woodbridge, a daughter, Janice M. Blanck (Jeffrey) of Oxford, grandchildren, Jessica Blakely, Michael and Mark Aldo and Olivia and Andrew Snyder-Spak, Jamie and Jason Blanck, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Frank A. Aldo Jr., a grandson, Ronald J. Aldo, and her brothers, Gino and Anthony Gasbarri. Visitation for family and friends will take place on Sunday, March 6, 2022, from 2:00-5:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62, Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Monday, March 7, 2022, her funeral will begin at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Church, 35 Washington Avenue in Seymour. Interment will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter in Derby. Contributions are to be made to the town of Seymour Broad Street War Memorial Park. Oh what a great neighbor and friend. She was truly a one of a kind friend too. Rest in peace with love.

Ron and family, so sorry to hear of your Mom´s passing. I would see her at morning Mass at St Augustine´s and she would always welcome me with a smile and a hug. Such a loving, sweet lady. I am so sorry about Mary's passing. In later years, I looked forward to seeing her at St. Augustine's Church. We would walk to our cars after Mass. She was always a nice sweet lady.
