To the Clark Family.....My first contact with Phil Clark was when I was in the 7th grade at St Patricks in Bridgeport. He was a Lieutenant in charge of the patrol boys that crossed the other kids. I guess I'm dating myself because they don't even have those programs anymore. Besides my Father, Lieutenant Clark was an inspiration for me to eventually become a police officer. I still have the picture of us taken back in 1960 that I keep framed. When I joined the Bridgeport Police I had the short pleasure of working under him. Even though he had risen to the rank of Inspector by then I had always called him Lou. I had to remind him of our first encounter and since then when I would see him in the building, I would call him that and it always brought a smile to his face. He was one of the nicest men I ever knew and I wouldn't hesitate in a second to carry out a request or an errand for him no matter what time of the day. Lou worked with every member of my family over the years, my father Jim, Uncles Bert Meehan, Richard Meehan Sr, Cousins Leroy Meehan, Captain Art "Buck" Buchanan,Lieut Eddy Casey, and probably a few more that I just can't think of right now...All these great men are gone and once again are now back together ...I miss them all and someday hope to be working with them again.....Lou!, may you rest in peace..

Phil was a great friend of Bert and I. I have many fond memories of he and Nessie and the McMahon clan when we lived on Putnam St. He was a welcome visitor to our home and will be missed. Millie Meehan and family.
