Rene Caisse Obituary

Rene Paul Caisse
1940-2024
Rene Paul Caisse, age 83, of Ansonia, the loving husband of the late Murielle R. Caisse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Born in Fall River, MA to the late Leo and Lillian Caisse, Rene was the second youngest of twelve children in his family. He worked in drywall construction prior to his retirement.
Rene and Murielle were part of the founding members of the Cathedral Singers. He was a very good singer/guitarist and they remained active in the St. Augustine Cathedral Singers for many years. Rene also enjoyed the Elks Club in Fairfield, many times serving as their DJ for events. He was also involved with the bowling leagues at Nutmeg and Circle Bowling and played softball in the Fairfield Adult League.
Post retirement, he enjoyed dancing and socializing at several senior centers and truly loved that phase of life with Murielle, after forty-nine years of marriage. Following the death of his beloved Murielle, he became very active in the Shelton Senior Center, meeting new friends, dancing, DJing events and especially calling out bingo games. It was there that he met his partner, Margaret Keane, with whom he shared ten years of many wonderful times.
Rene is survived by his two devoted sons and their wives, Daniel and Ellenmarie Caisse of Portland, CT and Roger and Karen Caisse of Trumbull; his grandchildren, Nicolas (Cora) Caisse, Benjamin Caisse, Meghan Caisse, Brian (Heather) Caisse and David Caisse and his fiancée, Isabel; and, his great-granddaughter, Adeline Mae, with his second great-grandchild due in June. He will also be missed by his two brothers, Donald and Ronald Caisse and his sister, Terry Cournoyer. Rene was predeceased by his five brothers, Armand, Arthur, George, Raymond and Robert Caisse and his two sisters, Gertrude and Lillian.
Friends may greet his family on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield followed by a funeral service immediately thereafter at 6:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. directly at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Shelton Senior Center, 81 Wheeler Street, Shelton, CT 06484. To send an online condolence, please visit www.shaughnesseybanks.com.

Rest in peace to a dear friend! You were our constant at the Shelton Senior Center. You were strong minded but kind and generous ! Your commitment was undeniable. From your bingo calling three times a week or your amazing DJing skills, singing or being my fix it guy, you gave of yourself unconditionally. We were so lucky to have you as our family at the Center. You always gave of yourself and more! You were passionate and committed for everything you were involved in with us. We were all very lucky to have you in our lives! Thank you for always being there. You will be missed, never forgotten and always loved! Doreen
