Dear Jackie and Chris,
I didn't know Dick as long as John did but I felt as though I did with all the stories John shared about the two of them. I am glad that I had the pleasure of meeting him and as a dog lover was so happy to know how much joy Max brought to him. I am praying for you and your family. May he rest in peace.

I was very sorry to hear of Dick's passing. I enjoyed taking saxophone lessons with him and his musical arrangements are always a pleasure to play. He had a real passion for music and will certainly be missed. However, his music will always live on.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Burlant was one of my favorite teachers. He was the coolest thing since jazz itself. I treasure my memories of my years in his class.

Dick was responsible for my love of jazz .. though I never quite learned to perform to his satisfaction. It was a privilege to have had him as a teacher.

I am so sorry to hear of Dick's passing. He was not only our band director at CHS, he was an incredible musician, friend and mentor to all of us music students that were fortunate enough to have such an amazing person in our lives for many years!
