Hunt's Hornets - Kings of Sting! I believe that was the slogan emblazoned on our Samuel Staples Elementary School Olympic Day class t-shirts. Mr. Hunt was my fifth grade teacher and I will never forget him. With his mutton chops and fun personality, he was one of those teachers who made learning fun. As one contributor to this guest book wrote - "He always seemed timeless to me." I feel exactly the same.

I moved to Easton the end of my fourth grade year, with two months left of school. Mr. Hunt called my house in NJ before I moved to welcome me to his class, and in the two months he was my teacher made more of an impact on me than teachers I've had for multiple years. He was famous for giving nicknames, and mine has stuck with me to this day, almost 10 years later. He was an amazing, amazing man, I can't believe he's gone. He always seemed timeless to me.

When I was in fifth grade, I moved to Easton about a month after the school year started. I had Mr. Richard Hunt as my teacher. Not only was he a wonderful teacher, but a truly beautiful person in every way. I was very shy, but Mr. Hunt took me under his wing and made me feel special. He really wanted to make all of his students feel special. His humor, his kindness, his interest in so many different things, his love of people and animals, his love for his students and the school community, and his love and enthusiasm for life were easy to see. God bless you, Mr. Hunt and thank you! The "Hornets Nest" will always remember you! My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Mr. Hunt's family and loved ones, now and always.

Mr. Hunt was one of the best teachers I ever had. He welcomed me in as a new student in the middle of the year and I still remember how it felt to win the P.O.W. He will be missed.

Mr. Hunt was my daughters 5th grade teacher. She was new to town and he made her want to go to school everyday. Mr. Hunt made learning fun for the kids. When he retired at the end of her sixth grade year the children were crying and hugging each other in the hallways. He even remembered the nick name he had given her (he was famous for giving all his hornets clever nick names,) when we visited him at Super Duper some years later. He made a positive difference in so many young lives.

Dick...Our beloved special uncle..We were so blessed to have you in our lives. Taken way to soon, but touched everyone's heart who knew him..A wonderful uncle, an extrodinary, special teacher, brother and friend. I miss him so much. Could always make us laugh, and had great big shoulders for anyone who needed them. The princess, the weege, and uncle Edward love him very much.

Mr. Hunt was my teacher in 5th grade, but he was so much more. I was a very insecure little girl, and Mr. Hunt made me feel special. I would eagerly anticipate school everyday, so I could see his smile and hear him say "Good morning, Lindy" ... Though it was well over 20 years ago, my year as one of "Hunt's Hornets" is marked indelibly as one of my fondest childhood memories. I am so very sorry for your loss - please know your Dad/Grandfather/Brother/Uncle was an amazing man, a phenomenal teacher, and someone who made a difference in this world...and I (and many others) loved him very much.

Richard was my uncle. When we were young he would come over all the time. When he would drive down the street all the neighborhood kids would scream Uncle Dick is here and would come running to my house. He entertained us all. He was the best and I was very blessed to have him as my uncle. God bless you Uncle Dick.

Love you, Weeg

Richard was our neighbor & I will always remember whenever he drove by our house when we were playing outside, he would smile & wave to us. We would always smile & wave back. I'll miss how he dressed up every halloween as something funny, like a hippie, and handed out lots of great candy to us kids. Richard also always let us pet & play with Daffy outside in his yard. We always had so much fun! Richard was a fun neighbor, great man, and a friend that will always be remembered by my sister, brothers, parents, and I. He will be missed.
