Richard Stabile Obituary

STABILE Richard Stabile, age 60 of Easton, the beloved husband of Eileen Lello Stabile, passed away tragically on Saturday, March 13, 2010. Born in Bridgeport to the late Michael and Mildred Stabile, he was a lifelong area resident. Richard was a graduate of Kolbe High School in Bridgeport and earned his B.A. in Sociology at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield. He excelled in various fields of work; as a loan originator for mortgage companies, financial institutions and directors of transportation, most recently as the terminal manager of Dattco in New Canaan. He held a passion for baseball as a player and spectator. Richard was a lifelong collector of trains and took pride in his spectacular, annual Christmas village series. A self-taught computer hobbyist, he was a creator, designer and publisher of websites and was always adaptive to the latest technology. He could frequently be found with a camera or video recorder in his hand, taking pleasure in his natural ability for the art. Family vacations were the highlight of his year, particularly his countless trips to Walt Disney World, which brought out his inner child, love for life and provided our family with the fondest memories. He was a loyal American and loved his country. Devoted to his wife for forty-four years, she was the center of his world and best friend. He was the proudest father to his only daughter, to whom he bestowed his passion for commitment and strong-willed character. He upheld his standard of excellence for himself and his family and was the center of laughter in any social setting. In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his loving and devoted daughter, Tracey Stabile of Easton; a brother, Michael Stabile of Waterbury; two nephews, Michael and Alan Stabile of Waterbury; and cousin, James Rooney of Milford. He will also be missed by his wife's family, Diana Lello Moore and Lynne Moore, both of Winchester; and many other relatives and friends. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. directly at Notre Dame of Easton Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the funeral home in care of the Stabile family. All contributions will be put towards furthering Tracey's education at Boston University. The Shaughnessey-Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Rd. in Fairfield has been entrusted with the arrangements. To send an online condolence, please visit www.shaughnesseybanks.com.

Dear Eileen and Tracey,

"Some souls pass through this lifetime like a gentle summer rain. They touch our hearts and then return to heaven once again."

I was so saddened to read of Rich's passing. My father owned the property at CT and Hollister since the late 30's and knew the Geibel and Stabile families since Millie, Charlie and Bobby were youngsters. We lived on top of the grocery store from the early 60's to late 60's. Every kid in the neighborhood thought the world of Rich....he always had a smile on his face and a sparkling personality. Every kid was so proud to be his friend; and boy, could he play baseball!!! My brother, Jim, and I will always cherish our memories of Rich and are so honored and blessed to have known him; our thoughts of Rich have and will always bring a smile to our face.

Sincerely,

Louise Katherine Karoli Gallagher,

May Richard rest in peace and bathe in the light of the Lord. I admired his spirit and faith from way back in the day. He, indeed, was a good Kolbe man!
