Rita T. Saboe, age 100, of Trumbull, CT, passed away December 16, 2023, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 2, 1923, in Norristown, Pennsylvania to the late Albert A. and Genevieve V. Paschall. She graduated from West Philadelphia Catholic High School for Girls in 1941. In 1946, she worked for the Social Security Administration issuing some of the first social security cards in the country.
Warm and fun-loving, she found her soul mate in Michael Saboe. They married in 1949 and enjoyed building a family together for 50 years. Her faith-based vision for her life with Mike, was to raise their 7 children to "love one another."
A resident of Trumbull since 1954, she also enjoyed working as a travel consultant. She was an active parishioner at St Theresa Church in Trumbull, CT, as a member of the Confraternity of the Rosary, Marriage Enrichment, Mother's Circle, and Pre-Cana programs. She taught in the Diocese elementary and secondary CCD classes.
Her community service contributions include being a recognized volunteer for the Mercy Learning Center, Kidney Disease Service, Family Life Bureau of the Diocese of Bridgeport, Trumbull Community Action Commission, and the Executive Board at University of Bridgeport Parents Association. She was active in the Trumbull Garden Club and was a volunteer reader for the blind and visually impaired, at Connecticut Radio Information System (CRIS).
Rita was predeceased by her beloved husband Michael S. Saboe Sr., her son loving Michael S. Saboe Jr., her daughter Susan Claire Saboe, her sister Geraldine Fleming, grandson Mark Roman Jr., and great-grandson Malcom Eble. She is survived by her children, Lois Saboe of East Norriton, PA, Rita Roman (Mark) of Easton, CT, Terri Hesley (Hess) of Lansdale, PA, Beth Mollo (Bob) of Trumbull, CT, Jim Saboe of Trumbull, CT, and Bernie Saboe (Tracy) of Tarpon Springs, FL and ten loving grandchildren and fourteen cherished great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by her brother Joseph Paschall (Scottie) and many nieces and nephews. Rita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be greatly missed. She was loved by all, family, and friends alike.
Friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT. After paying their respects, friends are invited to proceed directly to St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Rd., Trumbull, CT.
