Robert L. Forstrom, age 88, of Cromwell, CT, entered into his eternal heavenly home on Friday, May 12, 2023. Born on December 17, 1934, to Eric and Anna Forstrom, Bob grew up in Fairfield and was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School. He also served in the United States Army as an explosive ordinance disposal expert.
Bob married the love of his life, Claire Stenquist Forstrom, on October 20, 1956. Together they shared 66 years of a wonderful marriage, living in Fairfield, Shelton and Cromwell. He worked in the electrical contracting field his whole life, including over 50 years as founder and owner of Strathmoor Electric. He also had a business selling kitchen cabinets, which he enjoyed immensely.
Bob's joys in life included golf, singing with the North Star Singers and at his church, building projects of all types, traveling and simply being with family and friends. He was also vitally involved in his church, the Covenant Church of Easton. There he joyfully served his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for many years in many capacities.
In addition to his wife Claire, Bob is survived by his daughter Ann Forstrom of Shelton, CT, son Charles Forstrom of Derby, CT, granddaughter Kylie Forstrom of Narragansett, RI, grandson Tyler Forstrom of Trumbull, CT, brother Stanley Forstrom of Cromwell, CT and many loving extended family members. He was predeceased by a sister, Lillian Orelup and brothers, Paul and George Forstrom.
Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Service that will be held 11 AM, Saturday, June 10th at the Covenant Church of Easton, 1 Sport Hill Road, Easton, CT.
