Mieczkowski, Robert J.
Robert J. "Bob" Mieczkowski, age 70, beloved husband to the late Nancy Mieczkowski, entered into eternal rest with his loving son, Jason, by his side on July 4, 2013 at Milford Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Bridgeport on September 19, 1942, he was the son of the late Joseph and Stella Suchenski Mieczkowski. Bob was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Celtics and the NY Giants, and enjoyed vacationing in Toronto, Sarasota and Maine and loved the beach. Known as "Manager Bob", he was a soccer coach for the Milford United Soccer Club. A father figure to many of his son's friends, Bob will be remembered as a kind, generous and caring father, brother and uncle who will be sadly missed.
In addition to his cherished son, Jason, he is survived by his sisters, Barbara Federico (Joseph) of Bridgeport and Mary Sego (Joseph) of Oxford and many other loving nieces, nephews and family members. In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is predeceased by his loving nephew Nick Felisko and his cherished dogs, Romeo, Buddy and Puff.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday, July 9th from 4 to 7 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460. Burial will be private. As an expression of sympathy, contributions may be made to the Cody-White business office on behalf of Robert's son , Jason Mieczkowski. My heart goes out to Jason and the rest of the family. Bob was my step-dad for 10yrs.from my youth into my late teens. During that time we were very close and I have a lot of great memories...he is much loved.
