Robert Patrignelli Obituary

Robert J. Patrignelli
Robert J. Patrignelli, age 84, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Gail (Reh) Patrignelli. Born in Bridgeport on October 24, 1939, he was the son of the late Arthur E. and Helena (Manoni) Patrignelli. A highly educated man, Mr. Patrignelli was a teacher in the Bridgeport Public School System with over 40 years of dedicated service and was also an adjunct professor at Sacred Heart University. Lovingly known as "Bob" or "GLB" (good looking Bob), he genuinely cared for his students and treated them as if they were his own children. Bob was instrumental in shaping the lives of those he taught. He also owned and operated the Corner Deli in Trumbull for over 20 years and built many lasting friendships over that period. Bob was an avid woodworker and artist and relished the time he spent playing a round of golf with his friends. His greatest enjoyment however was found in the time he spent surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he adored. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife Gail of nearly 62 years, other survivors include his devoted children, Jennifer Costantini, Robert J. Patrignelli and Julie McKelvey and her husband Robert, his cherished grandchildren, Sarah Fiddes and her husband Hugh, Michael Haydu, Briana Costantini and her fiancé Joseph Marzigliano, Patrick McKelvey, Grace Patrignelli, RJ Patrignelli and Paige Patrignelli, his adored great-grandchildren, Annabelle and Harrison Fiddes, his sister, Janet Stramaglia and her husband Pasqualle, his brothers-in-law, Donald Tague and Jack Reh and his wife Carol, a sister-in-law, Donna Sharpe and her husband Benjamin, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Nicola Costantini and a sister, Barbara Tague.
A Mass of Chrisian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306 or at https://t2t.org. Mr. Patrignelli was my eighth-grade teacher at John Winthrop Elementary School back in the 1960's. He was a great teacher and loved by his students. His teaching methods were outstanding! I always admired and respected him and looked forward to his classroom time. He was always a kind and compassionate man. My sincere sympathies to his Family.

Dear family of Robert Patrignelli,
Mr. Patrignelli was my 7th grade science teacher as well as my 8th grade homeroom teacher at John Winthrop Elementary School in 1966-8. I have nothing but fond memories of him from that time. A wonderful teacher who cared about her students and fellow teachers. May his memory be a blessing to his family.

Dear Family of Robert Patrignelli,
Although I never met him, I was impressed by the reflection of him in the words and deeds of those who knew him well. My dear friend Judy Gross, who taught school with him, spoke of him as a kind, hard working, and virtuous man. A man who was devoted to his family. And, whenever I pulled my car into the parking lot of his son, Robert's office and saw a parking spot dedicated to him, I would wish to be a parent like him, who is so loved by his child, and realized what a great man he must be.
It is hard to lose a someone like that and, I pray that his memory will always be a blessing.
With my deepest empathy,
Susan Rosenberg
