Robert Michael Ruggio (Bobby) of Summerlin, Nevada, formerly of Southbury, CT, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on December 3, 2023. Bobby was the devoted life companion of Elizabeth Dale Brown. In addition to his beloved Elizabeth, he is survived by his daughter, Lisa Romano (Steven) of Las Vegas and grandson, Nicholas.
Bobby was born in Bridgeport on January 5, 1947 and had friends from all walks of life, including those from the Bridgeport Crescendo Social Club and the West Haven Columbus Club, especially his lifetime friend and confidant, Malcolm Yank, of Bridgeport.
Bobby served as a FMF US Navy Corpsman during the Vietnam War. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees at SCSU and Fairfield University. He began his career as a Fort Lauderdale Police Officer. Bobby lived life to the fullest, traveling the world with his precious Elizabeth. He was a philosophical and intellectual mentor, amazing and loving companion and provider. Bobby loved animals, especially his Cocker Spaniels, Muffy and Maddy, and two other friends, Missy and Bailey.
He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
