Ruth DeNomme Obituary

Ruth F. DeNomme
Ruth Frances Zak DeNomme, age 89, of Trumbull, died Wednesday, September 4, 2024 in her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond J. DeNomme. Born in Bridgeport, she grew up there and spent her summers in a cabin at Pinewood Lake. After Ray and Ruth married, they bought a house at the lake and lived there the rest of their lives. In addition to raising five children, Ruth worked as an administrative assistant for the University of Bridgeport for many years. Ruth enjoyed the lake and could often be found floating on a float in the middle of the lake. She also swam in swim races there and was proud that she could still do it even in her 80's. In addition to swimming, she enjoyed gardening and had a beautiful garden that many people would stop to look at as they walked by. Her favorite food was ice cream which she ate every day. She is survived by her loving children, Laura Abriola and her husband Darryl, Richard DeNomme and his wife Holly, William DeNomme and his wife Jill, Lisa Fazzino and her husband Paul and David DeNomme, and her grandchildren, Alex and Tasha Abriola, Daniel and Alyssa, James and Lauren Denomme, Vincenzo and Isabella Fazzino, Grady, Remy and Parker DeNomme. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 14th at 11 a.m. in the Redgate Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family Saturday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org) or the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org). Bill, Jill, the entire DeNomme family, and my cousin Susan Guariglia, I am so saddened to hear of the passing of your Mother. I knew her to be a sweet and kind woman, and I know she will be missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Extending our heartfelt condolences on the passing of your beautiful mother. Mrs. Denomme was my neighbor for 27 years, then 13 years ago, I married "Her Henry"! She would say that the two of them were outdoor gardening buddies, and because of her kind words about my new husband, many Pinewood Lake neighbors knew Henry better than they knew me...I loved it! We're going to miss looking out our picture window and watching her work diligently in her yard or beating Henry and Billy to the punch by shoveling her own driveway...well into her 80's! We'll also miss how her face lit up when we would occasionally drop by and surprise her with her favorite... strawberry ice cream from Main Street Creamery. Rest in Jesus' loving arms, my friend and Henry's buddy.

My condolences to the DeNomme family. Ruth was a lovely woman and a great neighbor. I will miss our little chats and short walks and the kindness she showed my father. She will be missed.
