Sean Shanley Obituary

Sean Michael Shanley
Sean Michael Shanley, 47, of Milford, passed away in a tragic accident on August 30, 2024. Born on August 14, 1977 in Milford, he was the beloved son of Debra and John Shanley Jr.
Sean was highly intelligent. His education included Mathewson, Harborside, Jonathan Law High School in Milford, CT and he graduated from Keene State College, NH in 2000. He was highly regarded as a dedicated Environmental Health and Safety professional, respected and admired for his wealth of knowledge and compassionate leadership. Sean was proud of his career as he built strong relationships at Sikorsky Aircraft and Avangrid. He enjoyed the many storm trips he traveled to help others in disaster recovery.
Sean had a calm demeanor, an infectious smile, an unforgettable laugh and a gift for making anyone in his presence feel special. Sean was always helping others, talented in knowing how to fix anything. He always had a plan for his next adventure, trip, or an old friend he was going to meet with. Sean loved the outdoors; boating, fishing, camping, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling and days with his family and friends at the beach. A boat ride to Block Island or Port Jeff, as well as road trips to Vermont and Maine were some of his favorites.
Along with his parents, Sean leaves behind his siblings, Stacey Shanley, Kaitlin (Tory) Jacob and Tyler Shanley; the love of Sean's life, McKenzie Bepko; his cherished nephews Brayden and Rylan, and niece Kaylie Jacob; his most faithful and loyal companion, Smokey, his black lab, and many extended family and great friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Ann Church, 501 Naugatuck Avenue, Milford (MEET DIRECTLY AT THE CHURCH). Oh my heart aches for Sean's family.
He was such a great guy and gone far to soon.
I had many great and fun encounters with him at Sikorsky.
I always called him father Shanley with an Irish accent.
Rest in peace my friend. I'm sure you are missed.
