Sebastiana (Betty) Ragusa Meriano, age 88, of Trumbull, beloved wife of Nicholas G. Meriano, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2023 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 15, 1934 in Limina, Sicily, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Filippo and Nina Saglimbene Ragusa. Betty met the love of her life, Nicholas G. Meriano, and came to the United States in 1959. Betty was passionate about gardening and when she wasn't filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found taking care of her homegrown vegetables and herbs. Betty also loved cooking and was famous for her homemade pizza and her apple pie. Betty was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was at her happiest when the family was together creating memories. The unconditional love she gave will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. In addition to her beloved husband of 63 years, survivors include her two loving children: Her son Nicholas Meriano and his wife Jacqueline; her daughter Maria Luciani and son-in-law Greg Luciani; two cherished grandchildren, Giana Luciani and Giuseppe Meriano; a brother, Sebastiano Ragusa, a sister, Carmela Alibrandi, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friend, Marie McNellis. She was predeceased by two brothers, Pepino and Antonio Ragusa and a sister, Maria Ragusa. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. A Prayer Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
