Shirley Banks Obituary
Shirley A. Banks, age 69, entered eternal rest Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at St. Vincent's Hospital. She was born October 10, 1946 in Gaffney, SC to the late James L. Banks and Ophelia Mitchum. She was employed with Sikorsky as a tool crypt supplier for thirty-five years. She was a former member of Concord Baptist Church in SC. Shirley was predeceased by her parents. She leaves to cherish her memory 2 brothers, Clarence Banks of Bridgeport; Donald Banks of SC; 1 sister, Evelyn Crosby of VA and several nephews, nieces other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held Monday 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Morton's Mortuary Chapel, 25 Margaret E. Morton Lane, Bridgeport, CT with Pastor Roosevelt Ewell officiating.

We are heartbroken to learn of Shirley's passing and send our condolences to her family. Shirley and I worked together at Sikorsky in the same department and became good friends. I could always call her no matter how much time had passed and talk as though we just saw each other the day before. She had an infectious laugh and boy did we laugh when we got together. I will miss you my friend. You'll be in my heart and prayers forever. Rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of knowing Shirley for several years at Sikorsky Aircraft where she was loved by many. I am sorry to her family and loved ones for their loss. She died too young

Rip Shirley. I had the pleasure of being her nurse when she was a patient at Northbridge Healthcare Center. She was a nice woman. My prayers are with her family.
