Sylvia Chandler Obituary
Sylvia Mary Chandler (née Picarazzi), age 90, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, in Charlottesville, Virginia. Born on November 16, 1934, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Sylvia lived a life marked by compassion, creativity, and deep devotion to her family.
Family was the cornerstone of Sylvia's world. She shared a long and loving marriage with her husband, Peter Chandler Sr., and together they raised five children: Laura Chandler, Virginia Hamrick, Peter Chandler Jr., Jeffrey Chandler, and Carolyn Chandler. Her legacy continues through her 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Sylvia is also remembered by her sister, Virginia Picarazzi. She was preceded in death by three siblings: Ida Shepard, Mario Picarazzi, and Guido Picarazzi.
A woman of many talents and interests, Sylvia found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an exceptional cook, whose meals brought people together around the table. An avid reader with a curious mind, she also had a flair for flower arranging and home decorating. Sylvia dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Those who knew Sylvia will remember her as caring, generous, and kind. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched so deeply.
A Graveside Service will be held on June 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lawncroft Cemetery, 1740 Black Rock Turnpike, with luncheon to follow (optional).

To the Chandler Family we're so sorry about the passing of Sylvia she was a wonderful person Joanne and myself enjoyed knowing her when they worked together at Dr's Hulcher and Napolitano she will be sorely missed we will keep you in our prayers mway she rest in peace .

I´m saddened to hear Sylvia passed away. I was in her LPN class at Bullard Havens & Bpt. Hospital. She was so kind and supportive to everyone. She will truly be missed.
