Dear Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and to all of Todd's siblings and extended family,

It was incredibly lovely to see you last week. Remarkable how none of you have changed and you are still are as beautiful as I remember. I had written this for Todd but it just didn't feel right to share in the moment on Friday. Thank you for all of your hugs.

I first met Todd my sophomore year at Andrew Graham´s house. He was attending Fairfield Prep and I was at Staples and our worlds collided. I always thought he was adorable, but it took a minute for us to find our time to truly connect. Once we did, WOW, it was full-on. We basically spent every-waking-second together that we could after that. As I´m sure all of you can attest, young love is undoubtedly one of the most powerful things one can experience. All-consuming and just amazing.
I have the best memories of hanging with all of Todd´s super rad friends, who also became my friends. We had the most amazing group of people who were just each so unique and incredible. Todd had a knack for bringing people together.

Todd and I used to drive around in his Pathfinder listening to Bob Marley on repeat and laughing so hard. We were ridiculous and stupid and all the things you´d expect high school kids to be. But man, did we have FUN.
I have such fond memories of us hanging out at Gerry and Dianne´s beautiful home on Fairfield Beach. I would pretend to be too tired so I wouldn´t have to drive home, just so we could capture a few more hours together.
Todd and I both LOVED to ski and would grab every ski day we could. We had a few epic trips to his family´s place in Killington. Even though I thought I could handle myself sufficiently on the slopes, he would beat me down the hill, every.single.time ...! In true Todd fashion, he only ever encouraged me in the sweetest of ways. Which of course, made me want to push myself and attempt to beat him down the next time. That never happened. Dude was a force on the slopes.

And as life goes, we went to different colleges, both of us in different parts of Colorado. And we went on to do different things...ultimately ending our relationship. Young love can seemingly have a tragic end in some sense.
I have countless amazing memories with Todd. He was a major part of my informative years and his passing feels like it´s not reality. I was always in awe of his kindness, his humor, and his ability to connect with just about anyone. His amazing collection of rad sunglasses, the latest "tight" gear, and his knowledge of ALL the finer things in life. He taught me to appreciate the beauty in ALL of the "cool stuff". I´m sure all of you can attest to that. Todd always had the funniest of sayings which made everyone crack up. "Sup Turkey". And his unique dance moves were beyond compare.
I can say this with complete honesty, Todd has never left my heart, he has always been there, and I really can´t believe I´m saying an actual goodbye to him.
I love you dude and you will be sincerely missed by all of us.
Megan

Mr and Mrs Smith, Allison, Jeff, Brian and Adam, my deepest condolences to you.....
It´s no secret, I absolutely loved Todd....
He was very much a brother to me. He held the prestigious title of my "Longest Running Best Friend", starting in 1st grade and the bond continuing for just shy of 40 years.
There was no one like Todd, it´s safe to say he was one of the most unique individuals any of us will ever encounter.
He was the definition of "One of a Kind". He was nothing short of the greatest childhood best friend a kid could ask for, not only for myself, but for so many of us.
My proudest moment was when he excepted the roll of Groomsmen in my wedding, I´ll always treasure him standing next to me for that moment. The hardest part will be come September, which meant I could call him on the 21st and wish him a Happy Birthday.
Then in his classic Todd style, with my birthday 8 days after his, he would call me 2 weeks later and say "ohhhhh Man, I missed it again, But Happy Birthday you Turkey!"....
I´m truly going to miss talking to him. He was my Connecticut comfort blanket for so many years, a trip was never successful unless it consisted of a visit with Todd. He will forever hold a special place in us all. With a very sad heart, I send my condolences to all of you. A forever friend of Todd´s, Stuart

I am absolutely devastated to hear this news. Todd was such an awesome guy that I became great friends with in college. We had countless skiing adventures, road trips to California and post college we traveled around Europe for 5 weeks. T loved a baguette, he found one in every country we visited. Too many memories to share but one that makes me laugh every time I think about it. Todd and I were visiting the Napa valley and we went on an atv/hunting excursion. The country boys we were with drank us under the table and after a long day of turkey hunting Todd and I crashed on the couch in this little cabin in the middle of nowhere. In the middle of the night I woke up to go to the bathroom and bam I fell on the floor. This woke Todd up, he jumped up to see what happened and bam he fell on the floor. We realized they had tied our shoe laces together while we´re sleeping. There´s so many of these classic stories and It breaks my heart that I can´t continue to laugh with Todd about all of them over the years. The last time I saw Todd we were nyc and he was still rocking his impeccable Michael Jackson moves that he had perfected long ago. I can hear your voice so clearly, "bros, bros, bros, come on bros" as we get older and life gets busy people naturally catch up less, but every time we spoke, we picked up like it was yesterday. My heart hurts for the whole Smith clan and all of Todd´s friends. It´s such a tragedy to see someone so special go so young. Todd´s memory will always shine bright in my heart and I´ll see you next week my bros to say goodbye until we meet again. I love you bros.
