Trudy Trichter Obituary

Trudy Trichter
Trudy Trichter, 90, beloved wife of the late Irwin Trichter, passed away on January 14, 2024. Born on April 30, 1933 in New Haven, CT, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Phyllis (Proto) Oronzo.
Trudy grew up on Wooster Street, and spent most of her childhood at Lighthouse Point, where her love for the beach took root. She worked for SAAB as a bookkeeper for many years. Trudy became the first person in Connecticut to receive a Cochlear Implant. This groundbreaking decision reflected her resilience and determination to embrace new possibilities, inspiring those around her with her courage.
Her love for travel was evident in every chapter of her life. Her favorite destinations included the enchanting cities of Italy, Portugal, and especially Paris. An avid skier, Trudy was a member of the New Haven Ski Club. Her love for the slopes took her to the snowy peaks of Austria, where she indulged in the thrill of skiing. She was also a member of Women Redefining Themselves. Trudy's infectious energy and love for dance brought joy to those around her, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of sharing those moments.
Trudy is survived by her sister, Elvira (Norman) Kaminski; nieces and nephews, Lynn Tompkins, Richard Cholewinski, Trudi Livingston, and Daniel Kaminski (Caitlyn Stevenson); great-nieces and nephews, Melissa, Sarah and Michael (Brittany Gowac) Tompkins, Kristin (Steve) Kaye, Dominic and Rachel Cholewinski, and Madison and Lauren Livingston; and great-great-nieces, Nyah Louallen, and Emelia and Cecily Kaye.
Trudy's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Seacrest Assisted Living for their support and dedication as well as the CT Hospice for the comfort and solace to both Trudy and her family during a challenging time.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mary Church (Precious Blood Parish), 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT 06460(MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). I remember Trudy from the SAAB days. She always had a smile and was the first to offer a helping hand with anything. The drawing of her in the obituary is a beautiful resemblance and the photo and her name caught my eye immediately. Sympathies to all Trudy's family and may memories of her always be a blessing to you.

I was saddened to hear the news about my Aunt Trudy. She was such a sweet and caring person and always loved hearing what was going on with my family. I haven´t seen her in awhile but Curt and I will always remember all the fun we had at family gatherings. She was such an inspiration to all. Our love goes out to her family.

When I think of Trudy, I think of a lady who was filled with thoughtfulness, Trudy was a special part of our ladies group. Whenever our group meet, she always brought her smile, enthusiasm, thoughtfulness and appreciation of life. She truly enjoyed being around friends and music. In fact, if there was music playing, Trudy was dancing. Nothing stopped her from dancing, even after she sustained a leg injury from being hit by a car while on her way to help a friend. I remember watching her dance the entire night away at the various Itilian American Club events in West Haven that our ladies group attended. She truly enjoyed life and showed us all how to live it to the fullest. Trudy will be sadly missed by all the ladies in our group, but always remember by us for the love she shared with us and the lessons she showed to us on how to live life to the fullest. She will live on in our conversations and in our dance dates. Rest In Peace my friend. And to her loving family, my prayers and deepest condolences.
