Vasilios Zargos age 78 of Shelton, beloved husband of 49 years to Voula Tsoukaris Zargos died peacefully on Tuesday February 24, 2015 with his family and friends by his side. Born in Zagliveri (Thessaloniki) Greece to the late George and Olga Naoumis Zargos. A resident of Shelton for over 15 years, he arrived in the United States in 1971 with his beloved "Voula" and family in tow. He raised his children in Bridgeport, CT and was a self-employed contractor working under the trade name of "Carpenter Bill". There wasn't a roof that Carpenter Bill tended to that ever leaked! A devoted husband, father, papou, brother, koumbaro and Godfather. His life was always centered on his family. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren. Vasilios enjoyed planting and sharing his tomatoes, drinking his light and sweet coffee, caring for his grandchildren, spending time with his Voula and friends, and was an avid Soccer fan (PAOK). A kind, strong, smart, happy and gentle man. He will be sadly missed by all whose life he touched. In addition to his wife Voula, survivors include his son George Zargos and wife Lisa of Shelton, his daughter Olga Zargos-Traub (an attorney) and husband Lucas of Norwalk, five grandchildren: Daniel and Alyssa Marie Zargos, William (Vasilios), Risa Effie, and Georgie Traub, two step grandchildren, Ryan and Fallon, two sisters Helen Feola of FL, and Trigona Margaritis of Greece, numerous nieces and nephews and two Godchildren. Vasilios was predeceased by two sisters, Maria and Soula. Funeral Services will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, at 4070 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, on Saturday, February 28th at 11am for the Rite of Burial with Fr. Andreas Vithoulkas Presbyter officiating with interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 27th from 4 to 8pm in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport, with Trisagion Services commencing at 6pm.
