I was on Ancestry.com today, having just returned from Sicily and meeting a newly discovered cousin...Girolamo Di Matteo. After having added the names Girolamo (Mimmo) gave me, Victor's link came up. We are cousins! While this is news to me, I just wanted to say that I am sorry I didn't find Victor sooner so we could connect and share family stories. I am happy that you Victor, are in a happy place.

All my love to Vic's family for everything!! Jackie and I felt the love and support while we were there. Rest now Vic. You've done your part here and I'll continue on and make sure what you wanted is done. We have an awesome daughter, so we did something right. I'm gonna miss you and our talks, but I know you'll always be here.

Pete and Doris were friends of my eldest sister and her husband, Eva (Carter) and George (Gotch) Klembara. I was Vic's first babysitter and remember him as always a sweet and loving child.
God bless all of you. you WILL see him again on that day.. until then he is in your hearts every day.

Vic and I met as couriers at the Stamford FedEx over 10 years ago. He was a good friend and a hard worker. He loved talking about his daughter, his family, and racing.

He fought long and hard and I know he's now in a better place... but will be greatly missed.

My thoughts and prayers to Jacqueline, and the rest of his family and friends.

To The Pavone Family,
Words cannot say for the loss you all are feeling. I've known the Pavone family since I was born and called Victors parents my Aunt and Uncle. I will treasure the times our families spent at D&J Auto Repair and remember what a blessing Victor was. I am sorry I didn't make his ceremony, but I wanted you all to know that he was in our prayers. Please except our sympathy and God Bless You All.
Sincerely, Tim & Anne-Marie Lane

Uncle Victor,

I know you were suffering for a long time and I've finally come to realize that you are at peace now, at first I didn't believe it, and my head was going in millions of different directions. At first I didn't know what to feel. I felt horrible, guilty, sad, and miserable, all at the same time. And I didn't want to come to terms with that word "death". But the thought in my mind that you no longer hurt phsically, and are not struggling anymore, put me at ease.

And the emotional rollar coaster that you were on, no longer makes you hurt. After all the hurt I've been feeling I finally reached my accepting point and felt a joy inside.

Although I've come to accept the terms of death and the situation I will never be able to let go of the memories and time spent with you. As your niece, as your family, and as your friend, I will miss you beyond belief.

I've been reading this book lately called "The Purpose Driven Life". It has inspired me and has opened my eyes to death. It's almost a coincidence that this has happened but I've realized that there is a reason for all of this. God has planned everyone's death as soon as they arrive on this earth.

There's a quote in that book that says "Life on earth is temporary, earth is not your home, when you die, you will enter your real home and you will be at peace in the hands of God." I've never thought about it that way, but it's true. You have served your purpose of life here on earth, and now it is time to meet God and spend time with him.

So Uncle, I will see you on the other side in that place we call home. Every night I will pray with and for you. You will be in my thoughts forever on. I love you and I miss you dearly.

Love your niece, Danielle N. Pavone

I have known Vic for about 2 years as a patient at dialysis. He always had nothing less than a smile and a joke for me everytime I saw him, even when he wasn't feeling well, he always managed to keep his spirits up! I was saddened and heartbroken to hear of your loss. Vic was a very special man who did nothing but talk about his "beautiful" daughter and how proud he was of her! Although his dreams of going down south are no longer, I am sure he is in his own "florida" right now!.. God Bless all of you and Remember he is watching over all of us!
