Virginia Duphiney Obituary

Virginia (Ginny) Joyce Cain Duphiney
Virginia (Ginny) Joyce Cain Duphiney, age 68, of Monroe, beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, and wife of James P. Duphiney, passed away with family by her side on Saturday, September 25, 2021.
Born in Bridgeport to the late John F. Cain, Sr. and Virginia Ruth Zoldy Cain, Ginny was raised in Southport and graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School in Fairfield before becoming a longtime resident of Monroe. She worked for over 52 years at Stop & Shop serving many roles and most recently as the Cash Office Manager.
In addition to her loving husband, James, Ginny is survived by her children, Melissa Duphiney, and her husband, George Kottas, of Brooklyn, NY, Brian J. Duphiney, of New Haven, and Caitlin Duphiney, of Meriden; siblings, John F. Cain, Jr., and his wife, Colleen, of Stratford, Elizabeth Cain, of Newtown, Kathleen Stoppel, and her husband, Robert, of Trumbull, Patricia Duphiney, and her husband, William, of Stratford, Ted Cain, and his partner, Kate Ruane, of Plymouth, and Margaret Cain, of Stratford; grandchildren, Elias Cian Duphiney-Kottas and Beatrice Michaela Duphiney-Kottas, of Brooklyn, NY; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, as well as aunts and uncles.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center, with a prayer service taking place at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield.
Ginny's family would like to thank the staff of Bridgeport Hospital, West Tower 7th floor for the compassionate care they showed to her.
