Virginia Lauro Obituary

Virginia Lauro
Virginia (Dolly) Ligouri Lauro, age 91, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Andrew A. Lauro, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on June 16, 1931, she was a daughter of the late James J. Ligouri Sr. and Catherine Anniello Ligouri. Virginia was an energetic and loving mother who always encouraged everyone to enjoy life. "You only live once," was one of her favorite sayings. She truly loved her family, sisters, brothers, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, countless nieces, nephews and friends. She always looked forward to every occasion; holidays, weddings, picnics, etc., when family could get together. She loved nothing better than seeing and joking with everyone. She had favorite "terms of endearment" for all her loved ones, and you all know who you are! But above all things, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Virginia, along with her husband, Andrew, were dedicated parishioners of St. Mark's Church in Stratford. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her three loving children, Wayne Lauro and his wife Susan of Trumbull, Linda Lauro of Stratford and Randy Lauro and his wife Denise of Fairfield, six cherished grandchildren, Lisa, Amanda, Ashley, Gabrielle, Andrew (Drew) and Luke, five great-grandchildren, Virgil, Mateo, Jordan and Liliana, and Myla Rae, three brothers, Johnny, Armondo, and Raymond, as well as countless nieces and nephews. Virginia was predeceased by six brothers: Louis Ligouri, James Ligouri, Jr., Joseph Ligouri, Anthony Ligouri, Thomas Ligouri, George Ligouri, and three sisters: Rose Ligouri Schettino, Jean Liguori Bockiaro and Madeline Ligouri Soules.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mark Church, Stratford, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.abriola.com
