William Saunderson Obituary
William Arthur Saunderson Jr. age 87 of Trumbull, beloved husband of Barbara Carbone-Saunderson and the late Lucy (Bruchalski) Saunderson passed away peacefully on Saturday August 19, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 19, 1929 in Ashville, North Carolina to the late William and Frances (Lindsy) Saunderson. He was predeceased by his brother George and sister Frances (Bubbles). His wife Barbara, who was a travel agent, they were fortunate to travel all over the world to take in the sights of the many countries they visited. They loved traveling on cruise ships, getting to know the many people they met on their voyages. Bill enjoyed snowmobiling in Maine with his friends and family. He took part in NASCAR sports. He enjoyed working on all kinds of projects, but took special pride in fully restoring a 1926 Ford Model T. He was a Marine Veteran of the Korean War. Bill worked for Remington Arms and Dupont as a machinist. He leaves behind these who will cherish his memory. Sons Mark Saunderson and his wife Monique, Anthony Carbone and Vincent Carbone and his wife Beth. Grandchildren, Jared Saunderson, Daniel, Sarah, Vincent, Julie, Breanne, James Carbone and Raymond Altierei. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the hospice nurses for their care and compassion for William.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday August 24, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 10 a.m. at Calvary Evangelical Free Church, 498 White Plains Rd, Trumbull followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
