Audrey Lofblad Obituary
Born Dec. 21, 1923, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Joseph and Marion (Coleman) Kargle.
She graduated from McKeesport Hospital School of Nursing and attended Duquesne University, the University of Miami, Millersville State College and Shippensburg University, for her master's degrees. She also was in the first graduating class of Hershey Medical Center for School Nurse Practitioners.
She enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps at a second lieutenant and served in World War II and the Korean conflict in Hawaii and the South Pacific.
She retired in 1989 from the Carlisle Area School District as the head school nurse.
Mrs. Lofblad was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Carlisle. She also was a member of VFW Post 477 of Carlisle and the Cornell Society of Bird Watchers.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband of 52 years, Harry V. Lofblad, and one brother, Jack Kargle.
Surviving are her two children, Gretchen Lofblad and Fred Lofblad, both of Carlisle.
Through her generosity, Mrs. Lofblad had donated her remains to Humanity Gifts Registry of Philadelphia; they will be given to Hershey Medical School.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
The Neill Funeral Home, Camp Hill, is in charge of arrangements. Services will be held privately at the request of Mrs. Lofblad.

She would always make sure When I wasn't feeling well I could Stay away from class for a few hours....
I am sorry to hear she passed away. I always liked her, although I did not have a lot of time at the nurses office (Carlisle High School Class of 1987)
