Gwen Hollinger Obituary
She was born on Aug. 24, 1927, in Newport, and raised by her late parents, Hubert and Martha Rice Nickle.
Gwen graduated from Newport High School, with the Class of 1945, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Sunday School, Mechanicsburg. She was also a member of the Ruth Circle, the Mechanicsburg Women's Club, and the Mechanicsburg Senior Center. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Capital City Chapter 146, District 15A, and a former volunteer with Mechanicsburg Meals on Wheels. She was a retired employee of the former U.S.F.&G. in Harrisburg.
In addition to her son, Eric L. (and wife, Annan) Hollinger; she is survived by a daughter, Lizabeth Jo Hipple of Harrisburg; a granddaughter, Tracy Hipple of Mechanicsburg; and two sisters, Jean Smith of Hershey and Theresa Foss of Lewistown.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, in the First United Methodist Church, 135 W. Simpson St., Mechanicsburg, with the Rev. Donald J. Ciampa and the Rev. Lucretia Browning officiating. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, in the Hollinger Funeral Home and Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, with an Eastern Star Service by Chapter 146 at 7:15 p.m. Interment in Newport Cemetery will be private.
The family requests no flowers. Memorial Contributions may be made in her honor to her church or to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1093, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.

Dear Eric,
Was sending your Web site to a family in Ohio who have plots in our cemetery and came across your Mom's obituary. You have the condolances and prayers of our Pillars of Orthodoxy Parish community.
