Jose Ramos Obituary
Born on Feb. 23, 1950, in Carlisle, he is a son of Jose H. Ramos Sr. of Carlisle, and the late Kathryn E. (Fuller) Ramos.
He was employed by Traini Shoe Repair in Carlisle as a cobbler.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was a member of American Legion Post 101, Carlisle. He also was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hiking. He was a fan of racing, especially NASCAR and Mark Martin, and a big fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.
He is survived by his daughters, Amelia M. (and her husband, Harold) Becker of McSherrystown and Jo-Ann K. Ramos of York; his brother, Carlos G. (and his wife, Nola) Ramos of Carlisle; his sister, Amelia M. Strohecker of Carlisle; and three grandchildren, Chelsea and "DJ" of York and Tyler of McSherrystown. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra K. Rohrer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 18, in the Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home and Crematory, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Terry Rafferty, officiating. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. Monday until the time of services. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with full military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made in Joe's name to the VA Medical Center, c/o Voluntary Department, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042.

Millie, Carlos and family, I spent my childhood with Joe and they were the best times of my life. I remember all the fishing trips that his dad took us on and the swimming at Cave Hill. I am deeply sorry for your loss and I know he will be missed. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
