Manda Howe Obituary
She was born in Gaston County on March 24, 1961, to the late Early Fred Hoffman and Ruth Black Hoffman.
Manda was a member of Bradley Memorial United Methodist Church where she was also in the Handbell Choir. She was co-owner of the family business R.O.'s BBQ. Manda was a professional mom, loved having lots of kids at the pool and enjoyed the more the merrier.
She was a Realtor and cosmetologist and enjoyed keeping babies all the time. She always made you feel welcome.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving family: her husband of 30 years, Doug Howe; her children Hannah, Ruthie and Harrison Howe; brothers Mark Timothy Hoffman (Debbie) and Alexander Fred "Sandy" Hoffman; and also leaves behind numerous loving nephews, nieces and other extended relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, June 28, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with a 3 p.m. celebration of life service to follow in the chapel with the Rev. Debra Short officiating.
Memorials may be made to Harrison Howe College Fund, c/o BB&T Bank, Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28054.

Our prayers are with the family at this time. We were so blessed to have Manda sing at our Wedding - 29 years ago. Manda was a good friend of my sister, Lorri.
One of the songs she sang was the Lord's prayer. Absoulutely beautiful, just like Manda. I recall that she taped the song during rehearsal so she could practice again prior to the wedding. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers - and will always have Manda in our fondest memories.

It is always so sad when a beautiful light goes out and seemingly endless darkness covers everything. But have faith that this too shall pass and joy will come in the morning light and enable family and friends to remember the light and joy that was Manda. God bless and comfort all.

You will really be missed by all those that loved you. Even though we haven't been in touch since High School. The loss touches me hard. I lost my husband last year, he was only 55, he had a massive heart attack I feel for the family. Such a tragic loss for you all.

Manda never met a stranger. She had a huge heart. She sang in my brother's funeral. I appreciated her generous & giving spirit.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Manda. She & I went to school together at Myrtle Elementary, Ashley Jr. High, & Hunter Huss. She was always upbeat & I truly cannot remember a time when she wasn't smiling. I have quite a few memories of her but one that stands out is when she won the softball throwing contest during field day at Myrtle. What an arm & what a throw. An early sign of her strength & the strong person she became. My deepest condolences to the entire family. Praying for comfort to all.

Although nothing that can take away the pain of your loss, please know that Manda was a very special kind and fun person. We were cheerleaders at Ashley Jr. High and then in Band at Huss. Knowing that we have lost Manda breaks my heart. I knew her for such a long time. She was such a sweet, loving person, with so much joy in her heart. I will miss her terribly. I loved her smile and her eyes that twinkled. I will pray for the Hoffman and Howe families. May God help us all to get through this huge loss in our lives.

I am so saddened to hear about the passing of Amanda. We we very good friends in high school. I remember the summer we went to the beach when I got my license and my first car. Her parents went also and brought some RO's BBQ with them. We ate so much BBQ that I couldn't eat BBQ for months after that. Amanda was the most amazing person and I consider it an honor to be able to say that I knew this amazing person. Even though I haven't seen her in a while, I thought of her everytime I passed RO's. She will be greatly missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

I went through 12 yrs of school with Manda - her dynamic fun loving personality was enjoyed by all that knew her. Her laugh, her friendliness will be missed by all that knew her....classmates, many of which continue a loving friendship with her today. This is tragic. She's gone way too soon. I am deeply saddened to learn of Manda's passing. She was such a genuinely caring friend at Bradley Memorial Church and at Hunter Huss. I remember that she was so musically gifted that she was voted the "Most Talented" senior in our class of 1979. Her smiles and laughter will be missed. Amanda and I were friends since our early childhood days at Myrtle Elementary. She and her family made a very big impact in the Myrtle school community and she will be deeply missed yet never forgotten. I count it all joy just being able to know her and call her my friend. I just don't want to believe Manda has passed! We go way back to our childhood days at Bradley Memorial. In all the years, through high school, and even up to the present when we spoke at a golf course as she was watching Harrison play... I don't recall Manda ever calling me anything but "Sweetie!" It saddens me that I will not be able to attend her funeral due to being on family vacation... but have NO doubt Manda would tell me to stay at the beach! God Bess you all from my heart.

I want to send my loving thoughts and prayers to all of Manda's family. Manda did my hair for 15 or 20 years. Even when I lived in Ohio, I would not trust anyone else to do it! I would wait until I could fly in for her to do it.
She was always such a sweet and happy person and I enjoyed being with her so much. My heart is broken with such sadness.

Words cannot express my feelings of sadness over the loss of Manda. So many years of memories from High School all the way to now. First, I would like to send my deepest sympathy to Howe and Hoffman family.
I only spent two years together in high school, but Manda was always everyone's favorite person. And, I remember those days like yesterday when she was cheerleading at ball games.
It is so sad to lose such a wonderful person, like Manda.
