Mary Diffenderfer Obituary

Mary E. "Lib" Diffenderfer 91, of Londonderry Township, passed away on Monday, Nov. 19, 2007.

She was the wife of the late James L. Diffenderfer Sr., who died in 1994.

Born in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late John Frohm and Elsie V. Farner Frohm Kelly.

A homemaker, Lib was cared for by Geyer's United Methodist Church family. She served as an assistant leader for the Londonderry Girl Scouts, was a Cub Scouts den mother, enjoyed crocheting and was an avid bowler.

Surviving are her children, Mary Geesey (Ronald) of Londonderry Township, Fran Light (Gene) of Lebanon, Pa., Jo Ann May (Ronald) of Elizabethtown and James L. Diffenderfer Jr. (Nancy) of Londonderry Township; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Koser of Shippensburg and Peggy Erdman of Oberlin; and her K-9 companion, Missy. She was preceded in death by a brother, John and four sisters, Helen, Isabelle, Phyllis and Doris.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Life Celebration at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Coble-Reber Funeral Home, 208 N Union St., Middletown, with the Rev. Warren Bevacqua officiating. Interment will be in Hillsdale Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ascera Care Hospice, 75 S. Houcks Road, Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17109 or to Geyers U.M. Church, 1605 S. Geyers Church Road, Middletown, PA 17057.
