Ruth M. Garman

Ruth M. Garman, age 94, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Claremont Nursing & Rehab Center, Carlisle.

She was born May 29, 1922 in New Kingstown, PA to the late James and Mary Margaret (Rynard) Sellers and was the widow of the late Harry E. Garman, who passed September 21, 1995.

Ruth retired from the Mechanicsburg School District as a kitchen manager. She was a member of the Mechanicsburg Senior Citizens and Wesley United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg.

She is survived by three sons, Leo E. (and wife Belva K.) Garman of Mechanicsburg, James M. Garman of Mechanicsburg and Harry E. (and wife Corina) Garman II of Dillsburg; three daughters, Connie M. (and husband Eugene) Hughes of Carlisle, Mary M. (and husband James) Woodward of Shermans Dale and Sandy K. (and husband Ronald) Reinfeld of Dillsburg; a half-sister, Jean Lear of Enola; a half-brother, Orrin Loudon of Carlisle; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Sellers and a sister, Grace Lenker.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Trindle Springs Cemetery, Mechanicsburg with Rev. Kevin E. Hughes and Rev. Richard L. Reese co-officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mechanicsburg Senior Center, 97 W. Portland St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 or to Wesley United Methodist Church, Filbert & Simpson Streets, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
