Alan Knight Obituary

Alan Wayne Knight, 31 years old, of Rexburg, ID, a new resident to Carlsbad, NM, passed away Monday, October 13, 2018 on his way to work in a tragic automobile accident.
Alan was born November 14, 1986, in Phoenix, AZ to Michael Wayne Knight and Julie Ann Gibson Knight. As a boy, Alan was a friend to all, a quality that followed him throughout his life. He was called, "brother," by his many lifelong friends because of his friendship offered to all who crossed his path.
Alan was married on July 14, 2007, in Salt Lake City, UT to Alma Espy Reyes Knight whom he devotedly loved. Together, they shared a love for nature and had many adventures exploring, hiking, and walking many, many, many miles shed hunting. Alan and Espy showed unconditional love as they supported each other's dreams and never gave up on each other.
On January 24, 2015, Alan and Espy joyfully welcomed their first and only child, Onyx Wayne Knight, who quickly became Alan's best friend, side kick and motivation for everything he did in life. Alan was known to have his dogs and his boy with him wherever he went. There was no mountain climbed, no adventure to be had without Onyx on his back. Onyx inspired all of his father's plans and dreams and brought him pure joy.
Alan graduated from Shelley Adult Training Center, an accomplishment achieved with the support of his wife, parents, cherished friends and their parents, who rallied for him to achieve his goal. He recently moved his family to Carlsbad, NM where he started his career at Nuclear Waste Partnership (W.I.P.P.). True to his nature, Alan made a town full of friends in only a few short months. For this reason, a small service will be held locally in Carlsbad, NM. Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 PM, Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Ryan Williamson officiating. Visitation will be at 3:00 PM in the Relief Society Room. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Services will also take place in Idaho later in the week.
Alan is survived by his wife, Alma Espy Reyes Knight; son, Onyx Wayne Knight; his beloved grandfather, Hobart Wayne Knight; parents, Michael Wayne Knight and Julie Ann Gibson Knight; and only sibling, Stacy Jean Knight Salter and husband, Jonathan Mark Salter; mother-in-law, Alma Carillo; brother-in-law, Brian Reyes; sister-in-law, Stephanie Reyes; his special girl, Marley; and his beloved dogs.

Gone to soon but not forgotten. I hope you can find comfort and understanding in the words found at Ecclesiastes 9:11, because time and unexpected events overtake them all. I am deeply sorry for your loss.
