Eduvijen Calderon Obituary
Carlsbad - Eduvijen "Vickie" Calderon, 83, of North 7th Street, Carlsbad, NM passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. Vickie was born on Wednesday, September 1, 1937, in Mulato, Mexico to Vicente and Erlinda Hinojos. There will be no visitation. Rosary is scheduled for 9:30 AM Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating, followed by interment at Carlsbad Cemetery in Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Vickie enjoyed cooking, gardening, and sewing. She was always caring for others, and showed her love for them by always having a meal to eat and a helping hand if needed. Vickie loved her family dearly, and cherished spending time with them. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
Vickie was preceded in death by her father, Vicente Hinojos; mother, Erlinda Hinojos; husband, Catarino Calderon; son, Abel Hinojos; two grandsons: Jerry Deporto and Joel Deporto; two brothers: Manuel Hinojos and Jose Hinojos; and sister, Ester Acosta.
Vickie is survived by her daughter, Elsa Hinojos of Carlsbad, NM; son, Jose Luis Hinojos and wife, Cecila of Pomona, CA; son, Ramon Hinojos of Carlsbad, NM; son, Javier Hinojos and wife, Charlotte of Waterford Township, MI; daughter, Gloria Miranda of Albuquerque, NM; son, Michael Hinojos of El Paso, TX; daughter, Daniella Calderon of Carlsbad, NM; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lidia Navarette of California; brother, Ruben Hinojos of North Dakota; and several nieces and nephews.
