Daniel Braithwaite Obituary

Daniel "Dan" Braithwaite, 54, of Omaha, Neb., passed away May 6, 2025, at the CHI Midlands Hospital in Papillion.

Dan was born in David City on April 23, 1971, to Delmer and Connie (Caulkins) Braithwaite. He was baptized on July 22, 1971, in Ansley, where he grew up and graduated from Ansley High School in 1989.

Dan was united in marriage to Linda (Stark) Roy on June 5, 1999, in McCook. They then moved to Broken Bow where they raised their two daughters and went on many adventures together.

Dan acquired his love for archery through his dad, attending many archery shoots together throughout the state and he was a member of the Nebraska Bowhunter Association and the Litchfield Archery club for many years.

Dan found joy in camping, hunting and working on cars; and he cherished every moment spent with his granddaughters.

Date nights and road trips with his wife were a highlight of his life, reflecting the strong bond they shared together.

His laughter, kindness and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dan was preceded in death by his father Delmer; brother Dale; grandparents Robert and Verlaine Caulkins and Harold and Lucille Braithwaite; Aunt Norman; Uncle Sterling Caulkins; Uncle Ron Young; and Burneate Henderson.

Dan is survived by his wife Linda of almost 26 years; daughters Jordan (Mike) Haack of Omaha, Crystal Roy-Braithwaite of Bellevue; granddaughters Willow and Madeline Haack; mother Connie Braithwaite of Berwyn; brother Seth (Becky) Braithwaite of Arcadia; and nieces Lea, Celina, Emeline and Selah Braithwaite; aunts; nieces; and cousins.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 17, at 2 p.m. at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with Pastor Scott Mustion officiating. The funeral will be livestreamed at www.govierbrothers.com.

A visitation will be Friday, May 16th from 5 - 7 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary.
