Kenneth Troyer Obituary

Kenneth E. Troyer, 90 of Ashland, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln. 
He was born Nov. 25, 1925, in Westerville, to Jacob and Dollie (Casteel) Troyer. 
He graduated from Westerville High School. 
Ken served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and following his service in active duty he started a career in the U.S. National Guard. He served in the U.S. National Guard for 38 years. 
Through the years, Ken built two houses for his family and enjoyed carpentry. 
October 5, 1950, Ken was married to Louise Hall in Broken Bow. 
Ken was a member of American Legion #129, where he was a past commander, and he was a member of the Columbus VFW.
He loved gardening, woodworking, fishing and collecting.
He is survived by wife of 65 years, Louise Troyer; daughter, Victoria (Daniel) Holloran of Omaha; son, Nicholas Troyer of Henderson, Nev.; grandson, Evan (Jenny) Troyer of Omaha; great-grandchildren, Joseph and Morgan Troyer; brother, Glen (Shirley) Troyer of Ogallala; sister, Donna Jo Scruggs of Maryland.
Funeral Service will be Dec. 22, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Marcy Chapel, Ashland.
Visitation is Monday Dec.21, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. at Marcy Chapel.
Interment will be at Ashland Cemetery.
Military honors by American Legion #129.
Memorials to the American Legion Youth Activity Fund.
