Daniel Bishop Obituary

Daniel Webster Bishop (Pete), 98, of Fredericksburg, Virginia died on Thursday, June 5, 2025, in his residence. Born January 9, 1927, in Charlottesville, he was the son of the late Diggs Edward Bishop and Dora Allen Bishop. He was also preceded in death by sisters; Kitty Bishop and Sarah Pietsch; and brothers; Fully Bishop and Bill Bishop. Pete was a police officer for many years in the Fredericksburg area. He served in the U.S. Marines during WWII and Korean wars. Pete is survived by his wife of seventy-five years, Shirley Harner Bishop of Fredericksburg, and five children: Patricia Bishop, Kathy Bishop, Willie Bishop, Allen Bishop and Vance Bishop. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. No graveside funeral service or scheduled visitation is planned at this time. He will be interred at the family cemetery plot in Monticello Memory Gardens, Charlottesville, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that any desired memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia at https://www.marywashingtonhealthcare.com/foundations/donate-to-mary-washington-hospital-foundation/ Condolences may be shared on the tribute wall
