Floyd Barnes Obituary

Floyd Lee Barnes, 94, passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was born at home in Harrison County on Jan. 31, 1927 to the late Ernest and Nannie Sharp Barnes.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Barnes, Gene Barnes; and one sister, Velma Foley.
He was a WWII veteran, and had worked at Kawneer, and retired from Ladish Co. He was also a retired tobacco farmer, and had made several trips to Honduras.
He is survived by his wife, Violet Burns Barnes; one daughter, Patricia Barnes; one son, Ernie (Becky) Barnes; two grandchildren, Seth (Jennifer) Barnes, Erin Slone; and one great-grandchild, Olivia Paige Slone.
A funeral service will be held at Battle Grove Cemetery on Friday, Dec. 31 at 1 p.m., with Bro. Evan Meyers officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Antioch Mills Christian Church c/o Kenny Price, 12785 US Hwy. 27 N., Berry, KY 41003.

One of my favorite memories I have was riding in Floyd's big tractor around his yard and letting me drive made me feel special Floyd was a good man may he rest in peace in the kingdom of Heaven. Amen!
