EVAN DAVIS Obituary
Born Aug. 1, 2009, in DeKalb, the son of Matthew D. and Megan K. (Finn) Davis, he fought valiantly hypoplastic left heart syndrome.
He is survived by his parents; sister, Sophia; twin brother, Finn; maternal grandparents, William and Maggie Finn of Sycamore; paternal grandparents, Daniel and Janet Davis of Genoa; maternal great-grandparents, Paul and Peggy Sheetz of Crystal Lake; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, great-aunts and -uncles.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at The Church of St. Mary, Sycamore, with Fr. Frank J. Timar, M.S.C., celebrating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 8, at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Evan Joseph Davis Memorial Fund, in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 S. Fourth St., DeKalb, IL 60115.

I'm so sorry about the loss of Evan. He's touched so many lives, I know many of us will never be the same! His little heart wasn't strong enough, but it was overfilled with love, you can see that in his eyes! Now he can play in the heavens and not ever worry about his body being strong enough. Treasure the memories you have, you've been blessed with a true miracle of God! Love you guys and if you need anything, please just get ahold of us!

Dear Megan and Matt- I feel so blessed to have been a small part of that sweet little boy's life. Evan was such a little trooper trough everything, whether it was ECMO or a new Nurse he didn't know. His smile lilte up the room esp. when he heard your voices. Thank-you for sharing him with with me those few nites when I could "fill in" . I know I have another little angel watching over me. Matt, Megan, Sophia & Finn - our hearts go out to you as Evan joins the angels in Heaven. We can see in Evan's eyes that he loved his mother and father. While we didn't always leave a comment, we read your Caring Bridge posts regularly - thank you for sharing Evan's story with us.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you. Being a heart mom myself to 2 little boys- this is just too "real" and breaks my heart. God needed another angel in Heaven and Evan was who he needed. I can't even come close to understanding what you are going through and I pray that I NEVER have too.

I saw this beautiful baby boy in the paper, I am so sorry for your loss. We have never met, I used to be a Pediatric nurse, and took care of many children with Heart defects. He looked happy and well loved in this photo. You I am sure made his life happy, remember when someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. God Bless you and your family.

Dear Matthew, Megan and Family,
My name is Annie. My Husband and I had our Son in the hospital at CHW last spring awaiting a heart transplant. I do not think that we ever formally met, however we do know who you are and saw you back and forth to the RMH and CHW quite a bit during our stay. We are so deeply saddened to hear about baby Evan. He was so strong! And so are the both of you. We did not loose our Son(transplanted 4/2010 but we do know about being i the hospital and caring for a child that is sick. You are so brave. Take care of you and your family. Thinking of you always,

It is impossible for words to soothe what you are feeling or to heal your broken hearts at this time.
