Died: February 7, 2019; in Rockford, IL
Gary J. Divine, 66, of Sycamore, Illinois, died Thursday, February 7, 2019, at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford.
He was born August 4, 1952, in DeKalb, Illinois, the son of James E. and Cora Joyce (Shepherd) Divine, Gary married Linda A. MaKarrall on September 2, 1978 in DeKalb.
Gary graduated DeKalb High School Class of 1970 and from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor's Degree in 1974. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in DeKalb. Gary was employed by Eagle Foods in DeKalb for over 30 years; Office Depot in Rockford for 10 years; and at Harbor Freight in Hanover Park for four years.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Christopher (Diana) Divine, Cory (Ashley) Divine, Timothy (Megan) Divine; six grandchildren, Aubrey, Emma, Caleb, Avery, Oliver, Mackenzie; his mother, Joyce Divine; his two brothers, Rick (Cathy) Divine, Randy (Rhonda) Divine; mother-in-law, Beverly MaKarrall; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim in 2002; and his, father-in-law, Dale MaKarrall in 2017.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 16, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb, with the Rev. Del Keilman of United Presbyterian Church in Earlville officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Gary J. Divine Memorial Fund, addressed to the Divine Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, Ltd., P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
