Born: September 22, 1958 in Lyons, NY
Died: August 17, 2024 in Loves Park, IL
James L. Quick, 65, of Loves Park, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, in his home. Born September 22, 1958, in Lyons, NY, the son of Melvin and Leota May (Helstrom) Quick. He married Wanda Staats on March 12, 2013, in DeKalb, IL. Formerly employed as a cook by Northern Illinois University. James enjoyed listening to hard rock music and attending many concerts. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Those that knew James knew he had a rough demeanor on the outside, but he had a heart of gold on the inside. Survivors include his wife, Wanda; daughters, Megan and Amber; stepsons, Justin Staats, Robert (Desiree) Staats, and Derek Lammer; eight grandchildren; sister, Linda Gorniak; half-sister, Diane; and half-brother, Sam. Predeceased by his parents.
At his request, no services are planned. Cremation rites accorded. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Loves Park.
