Kenneth Witkowski Obituary

KENNETH J. WITKOWSKI
Born: April 3, 1951 in Chicago, Ill.
Died: December 27, 2022 in Sycamore, Ill.
Kenneth Joseph "Ski" Witkowski, 71, of Sycamore, Ill., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at his home.
Born April 3, 1951, in Chicago, the son of Raymond and Margaret Louise (Whitsura) Witkowski, Ken was married to the love of his life, Sharon Kay King from Sept. 26, 1987, up until the time of her death in 2010.
A graduate of Elgin High School, Ken worked with Teamsters Local 330 for Floit Gravel/Ozinga many years before retiring. He was a skilled tradesman and carpenter, and was a good handy man, knowing how to fix anything, and was just stubborn enough to stick to it until he got it done. Ken always had stories to tell about the old days and was a big fan of John Wayne movies. He enjoyed camping, and watching NASCAR and sports. Ski was a member of the American Legion, Sycamore Veterans Home and VFW.
Ken is survived by his brothers, Ray, Mike and John (Karen) Witkowski; and a sister. He had numerous nieces and nephews, and had a special relationship with his goddaughter, Krista Witkowski, and his wife's sons, Joe (Susan) and Scott (Nicole Kuchar) Shamuluas.
The family extends thanks to all his close neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Snyder, and Anna from Elder Care Services.
Memorials can be made to the family for a fund to be established.
A private burial service will take place at later date at the family-owned Hoxsey Cemetery in Alhambra, Ill., alongside his wife. Cremation rites were accorded by Olson's Quiram Sycamore Chapel, 1245 Somonauk St., Sycamore, IL 60178; 815-895-6589. Visit www.olsonfh.com to share a memory or leave a condolence.
