Norbert E. Selent, 75, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025, at DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center.
He was born September 23, 1949, in Germany, the son of Alfred and Johanna (Ludwig) Selent.
Norbert was a graduate of University of Illinois Chicago Circle Campus with a BS Mechanical Engineering. He was an avid woodworker and tinkerer.
Norbert was a man of faith and a member of the DeKalb 7th Day Adventist church.
He is survived by his brother Henry; his sister Ingrid (Karl) Peterson; his nieces and nephews Jill, Brittnay; and grand nieces and grand nephews Joseph, Alyson, Maksim, Penelope and Emilia.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Selent Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
