Leslie Selent Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Niles on Dec. 24, 2024.
Leslie Jayne Selent, 76, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in Niles, Michigan.
Leslie was born on December 28, 1947 in Niles, Michigan to the late James F. Hiatt and Zeta (Zerr) Clark.
Along with her parents, Leslie was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Selent.
Left to cherish the memory of Leslie is her loving husband of many years, Edgar Albert Selent; daughter, Christina Selent, and brother, Donald (Marge) Hiatt.
Leslie, a woman celebrated for her unwavering love and dedication as a wife and mother, has completed her earthly journey. A Niles High School alumna, Leslie's intellect shone brightly as she graduated with honors, setting the tone for a life marked by passion and commitment.
Alongside her beloved husband Edgar, Leslie found joy in the simplicity and labor of splitting wood, a testament to the teamwork that defined their union. Together, they embarked on rhythmic adventures, basking in the harmony of concerts, sharing melodies that echoed the beat of their shared heart.
The roar of Harley engines was music to their ears, and revving up their bikes signaled the beginning of another cherished memory. Leslie and Edgar's road travels were legendary; seven times they conquered the distance to Washington, four times they reveled in the camaraderie of Sturgis, and they skillfully navigated the winding Dragon Tail trail, their love's journey mapped on the open road.
Leslie's spirit was as open as the sky they rode beneath, her easygoing nature a breeze that soothed the souls around her. Her hands, delicate and skilled, wove beauty with every stitch, as she found solace in the art of sewing.
A collector of melodic treasures, Leslie's beloved music boxes were a mirror of her own life-a series of intricate, yet beautifully composed moments. Leslie's melody may have ceased, but the echoes of her song will resonate endlessly through the memories she lovingly crafted and the lives she tenderly touched.
In keeping with Leslie's wishes, she will be laid to rest privately at Silverbrook Cemetery.
