We honor the life of Patricia M. Ustine, who peacefully passed away at the age of 90. A devoted wife, beloved aunt, and lifelong adventurer, Patricia lived her many years with grace, curiosity, and a steadfast faith.
Born on February 14, 1936, in
Escanaba, Michigan, to her loving parents Flora and Adolph Sarasin, Patricia grew up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where she developed the gentle strength, warmth, and appreciation for the natural world that would define her life. In her younger years, she also played the violin, nurturing a love of music that reflected her quiet creativity and thoughtful spirit.
Patricia shared 69 wonderful years of marriage with her cherished husband, Chuck Ustine. Together, they embraced life's adventures-especially their travels throughout the American West. Pulling their camper behind them, they visited countless state and national parks, exploring mountain roads, watching desert sunsets, and savoring the simple joy of the open road. These journeys became treasured memories and a defining part of their life together.
She spent many happy years in West Allis, Wisconsin, where she built lasting friendships and a meaningful life rooted in community. Throughout her life, Patricia generously volunteered her time in service to others, offering kindness, support, and a steady presence wherever she was needed. She also loved studying her family's history and researching topics of historical importance, finding joy in uncovering stories, connections, and the threads that tie generations together.
Patricia's love for her family was unmatched. She always greeted her nieces and nephews with a warm hug and a kiss-small gestures that made each of them feel deeply cherished. Her affection extended through generations, creating bonds that will be remembered with gratitude and tenderness.
Later in life, Patricia moved to
Battle Creek, Michigan, where she was lovingly surrounded by her niece and the joyful presence of her great-great nieces and nephews. Their love brought her comfort, laughter, and companionship in her final years.
A devout member of the Catholic Church, Patricia's faith guided her throughout her life, offering her strength, peace, and a deep sense of purpose. She was also a proud and loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers, cheering them on with enthusiasm throughout every season.
Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chuck; her parents, Flora and Adolph Sarasin; her sisters Elaine and Rosemary; and her brothers Ray and Bud. She now joins them in eternal rest.
She is survived by her sister, Phyllis, as well as several nieces and nephews, including many great-nieces, great-nephews, and even a few great-greats who cherished her deeply.
No services will be held at this time.
