Paul V. Sharp Jr.

Born: October 10, 1942; in Ridgely, MD

Died: October 10, 2016; in Waterman, IL

Paul V. Sharp Jr., 74, of Waterman, Illinois, died Monday, October 10, 2016, at his home.

Born October 10, 1942, in Ridgely, Maryland, the son of Paul and Edna (Adams) Sharp, Paul married Mary L. Mench on December 27, 1962 in Centreville, Maryland.

Paul was a devoted father and husband. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Vietnam War. In high school he set many records in track and field that have not been broken. Paul was an owner operator of his own trucking firm. He was a member of the Jubilee Christian Centre in Elgin and a former 4H member where he raised pigs. Paul was a marksman and loved dogs and horses.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Paul (Nichol) Sharp III of Elgin, David A. Sharp of Crystal Lake; seven grandchildren, Dorian, Taylor, Mackenzie, Tyra , Evan, Adam, Kaitlyn Sharp; great- grandchild, Remi Bryant; brother, Richard Allen Sharp; mother, Edna Louise Sharp; four nephews and six nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father.

The memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Paul Sharp Jr. Memorial Fund, for Pancreatic Cancer Research, addressed to the Sharp Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, and 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
